Three, two, one… Liftoff!

Join us on our next supersonic mission, as our new and improved rocket prepares to launch into the Solar System for its second adventure – this time we’re heading to Mars! Get your friends and family together to walk, run, cycle, scoot, or swim as many miles as you can to help us rocket to the red planet!

Houston, we have a problem

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy told us that “Space is big, really big. You won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind bogglingly big it is.”

In fact, it’s so big that even at its closest point next year, Mars will still be 38.6 million miles away from Earth which even for our intrepid #TeamShootingStar Space Racers is a little far so using another special space formula, we are challenging you to help us complete 38,600 miles in 31 days to make our mission to Mars a success. Based on the success of last year, we may even make it home again…

The stars you’re helping

Our bespoke hospice care not only includes a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family, specialist nursing care and respite, symptom management, end-of-life care and bereavement support, we also help to make every moment count for children living with life-limiting conditions.

Children just like Nicholas and Anais.

Friends Nicholas and Anais have been supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices for many years. Both have complex conditions which require specialist care, but they certainly don’t let these conditions stop them from having fun and just love to play together when they come into the hospice. From clambering around in our soft play area to enjoying all that’s on offer in our gardens.

With Nicholas and Anais leading our mission, it’s sure to be astronomical – all we need now is you to join our Space Race team, which will help to ensure we can continue to make every moment count for children just like Nicholas and Anais, now and for many lightyears.
